Set off on a 10-day Uganda safari that takes you from the vibrant streets of Kampala to the wildlife-rich national parks of Lake Mburo, Queen Elizabeth, Semuliki, and Murchison Falls. This journey combines game drives, boat cruises, and primate tracking across varied landscapes, offering close encounters with wildlife and insight into the country’s natural and cultural beauty.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Hotel in Kampala, Evening City Tour
Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your guide and driven to your hotel in Kampala. In the evening, take a guided tour of the city’s vibrant markets, historical landmarks, and neighborhoods that reflect Uganda’s cultural depth.
Day 2: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park, known for its acacia-dotted landscapes and varied wildlife. Along the way, enjoy views of rural Uganda before settling into your lodge surrounded by nature.
Day 3: Walking Safari and Boat Cruise
Start the day with a guided walking safari through the park, observing animals like zebras, impalas, and warthogs up close. In the afternoon, take a relaxing boat ride on Lake Mburo where hippos and crocodiles can often be seen along the shoreline.
Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most diverse reserves. On arrival, check in to your lodge and enjoy your surroundings as you prepare for more wildlife adventures.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Ride
Head out early for a game drive in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, and antelope species. Later, take a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, a key wildlife corridor with hippos, crocodiles, and rich birdlife, all set against the Rwenzori Mountain backdrop.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking and Drive to Fort Portal
Explore the Kyambura Gorge with a guided chimpanzee tracking experience, watching these intelligent primates in the wild. Afterwards, head to Fort Portal, a town surrounded by crater lakes and green hills.
Day 7: Semuliki Game Drive and Nature Walk
Spend the day discovering Semuliki National Park. A morning game drive may reveal forest elephants, monkeys, and colorful birds. Later, take a guided walk to explore the park’s trails, hot springs, and natural features.
Day 8: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park
Leave for Murchison Falls National Park. Along the way, you’ll pass through changing landscapes until you arrive near the famous falls. Settle in and enjoy views of the area as you get ready to explore the park.
Day 9: Wildlife Viewing and Boat Trip to the Base of the Falls
Set off on a game drive across the northern section of the park, looking for giraffes, lions, elephants, and more. In the afternoon, a boat trip along the Nile will take you to the base of Murchison Falls where the river crashes through a narrow gorge.
Day 10: Visit the Top of the Falls and Return to Entebbe or Kampala
In the morning, visit the top of Murchison Falls for sweeping views and the powerful roar of the Nile. After this, drive back to Entebbe or Kampala where your safari ends, full of memories from Uganda’s most iconic destinations.
