5 Days 4 Nights Itinerary

Day 1 : Arusha to Tarangire National Park:


12:30 pm – Lunch in Arusha, Tanzania’s tourist hub. Arusha is a city located in Northern Tanzania, at the foot of Mount Meru.
2:00 pm – Your Safari departs. Drive from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Travel time/distance is approximately (2½ Hrs / 140 kms)
7:00 pm – Dinner and overnight in Tarangire.

 

Day 2 : Tarangire To Ngorongoro :


7:00 am – Breakfast
8:00 am – Game drive starts at the Tarangire National Park. This Park is the sixth largest National Park in Tanzania. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire river that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. The swamps are the focus of the largest selection of breeding birds anywhere in the world. The park is also famous for the termite mounds that dot the landscape. Those that have been abandoned are often seen to be home to dwarf mongoose. Drive to Ngorongoro for the night. Travel time/distance is approximately (2½ Hrs / 160 kms)
7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Ngorongoro.

 

Day 3 : Serengeti National Park:


6:30 am – Breakfast
7:30 am – With picnic lunch, half-day Crater game drive commences down the Crater floor. This is a conservation area and a UNESCO World Heritage site, also known as “the eighth wonder of the world”. Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most popular wildlife sanctuaries. It offers a unique biosphere which has remained virtually unchanged since the beginning of time. Deep within the Crater, enclosed by towering walls, some 25,000 large mammals wander the plains, lakes and forests of “the land that time forgot” dominated by enormous bull elephants, rhinos and lions.
2:00 pm – After lunch, its en-route game drive to Serengeti National Park, one of the world’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, the Serengeti continues to be an ongoing source of inspiration to writers, filmmakers and photographers alike. Travel time/distance is approximately (3½ Hrs / 140 kms)
7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.

 

Day 4 : Serengeti to Lake Manyara:


6:00 am – Breakfast
7:00 am – Game drive at Serengeti National Park commences. Serengeti National Park is undoubtedly the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. With more than two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson’s gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. The wildebeest and zebra moreover form the star cast of a unique spectacular – The annual Great Serengeti migration. The name ‘Serengeti’ comes from the Maasai language which means an ‘extended place or in clear words endless plains’. The National Park has an area of 12,950 square kilometres, is as big as Northern Ireland, but its ecosystem, which includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Maswa Game Reserve and the Maasai Mara Game reserve (in Kenya), is roughly the size of Kuwait. This park offers the most complex and least disturbed ecosystem on earth.
2:00 pm – Picnic lunch then drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Travel time/distance is approximately (5 Hrs / 230 kms)
7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Manyara.

 

Day 5 : Lake Manyara to Arusha:


7:00 am – Breakfast
8:00 am – Game drive commences at Lake Manyara National Park. This park offers a wilderness experience rich in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to its dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Apart from a spectacular setting, the park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds it was established to protect. The shores of the lake, encrusted with pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of birds, many of them waterfowl or migrants. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe and impala roam the lake shores and the forested valley slopes. Although in abundance, are hard to get a glimpse of, just like the other elusive carnivores – the lions – of this park.
10:30 pm – Drive back to Arusha. Travel time/distance is approximately (2½ Hrs / 130 kms)
