Day 1 :Drive from Arusha to Tarangire:
12:30 pm – Lunch in Arusha, Tanzania’s tourist hub. Arusha is a city located in Northern Tanzania, at the foot of Mount Meru on the eastern edge of the eastern branch of the Great Rift Valley. Arusha has a temperate climate. The city is close to the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Lake Manyara National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Tarangire National Park, Mount Kilimanjaro and Arusha National Park on Mount Meru. 2:00 pm – Safari departs. Drive from Arusha to Tarangire. Travel time/distance is approximately (2½ Hrs / 140kms) 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Tarangire.
Day 2: Full day in Tarangire National Park:
7:00 am – Breakfast 8:00 am – Game drive starts at the Tarangire National Park. This Park is the sixth largest National Park in Tanzania. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire river that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. The swamps are the focus of the largest selection of breeding birds anywhere in the world. The park is also famous for the termite mounds that dot the landscape. Those that have been abandoned are often seen to be home to dwarf mongoose. 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Tarangire.
Day 3 : Drive to Ngorongoro Crater:
7:00 am – Breakfast 8:00 am – Game Drive once again in the Tarangire National Park with picnic lunch. 2:00 pm – After picnic lunch, drive to Ngorongoro Crater. Travel time/distance is approximately (2½ Hrs / 160 kms) 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight Ngorongoro.
Day 4: Full Day in Ngorongoro:
7:00 am – Breakfast 8:00 am – Full-day Crater Game Drive and exploration of the Crater floor. The Ngorongoro crater is a conservation area and a UNESCO World Heritage Site located 180 km (110 mi) west of Arusha. Known as “the eighth wonder of the world” the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife arenas. it offers a unique biosphere, which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Deep within the Crater, enclosed by towering walls, some 25,000 large mammals wander the plains, lakes and forests of ‘the land that time forgot’, dominated by enormous bull elephants, rhinos and lions. 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Ngorongoro.
Day 5 : Drive to Tarangire National Park.
7:00 am – Breakfast 8:00 am – Drive to Tarangire National Park. 1:00 pm – Lunch at Lodge/Camp 2:00 pm – Game Drive at Tarangire National Park. A unique combination of diverse habitats enables it to support more than 30 species of large herbivores and nearly 500 species of birds. Its landscape, originally formed by volcanic activity, has been sculptured by the concerted action of wind, rain and sun. It now varies from open grass plains in the south, savannah with scattered acacia trees in the centre, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west. Small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout. In the South-East rise the great volcanic massifs and craters of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Each area has its own particular atmosphere and wildlife. 7:30 pm – Dinner and overnight in Tarangire. Travel time/distance is approximately (6 Hrs / 330 kms)Day 6 : Drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
7:00 am – Breakfast 8:00 am – Drive to Lake Manyara National Park. 1:00 pm – Lunch at the Lodge/Camp 2:00 pm – Half-day Game Drive in the Lake Manyara National Park. This park offers a wilderness experience rich in diverse habitats, from its Rift Valley soda lake to its dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Apart from a spectacular setting, the park is famous for its unusual tree-climbing lions and the vast elephant herds it was established to protect. The shores of the lake, encrusted with pink flamingo, attract more than 400 species of birds, many of them waterfowl or migrants. Large herds of buffalo, cheetah, Masai giraffe and impala roam the lake shores and the forested valley slopes.
